LOST DUTCHMEN STATE PARK campground

 Location: Apache Junction, AZ

Fee to camp? Yes ($25/night when I stayed)

Reservations accepted? Yes

Things I liked:

Great for stargazing.

All “pull in’s” are paved, so you’re guaranteed a level spot.

Views of Superstition are amazing!

Friendly camp hosts.

Easy access to hiking trails.

Things I disliked:

Some of the spots are pretty close together.

Very busy during the day.

Additional info:

This is a great campground to camp out at the night before climbing up to Flat Iron. There is direct access to hiking trails from the campground. This will also guarantee you an extra early start, since the park doesn’t open until 6am. 

Please remember to leave the area better than you found it.
